Possible Causes
Defective oven temperature sensor, Shorted sensor harness, Stuck bake or broil relay on EOC, Poor electrical grounding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn off the oven and switch off the breaker if the oven overheats. Allow it to cool fully.
- Test sensor: As with F2/F3/F4, measure the sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to specification. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect harness: Check for melted or pinched wires from the sensor to the EOC. Repair any damage and secure away from hot surfaces.
- Check relays: If the oven continues heating even when the EOC is off, the bake or broil relay may be welded closed. Replace the EOC.
- Verify grounding: Ensure the range is properly grounded at the terminal block. Loose neutral or ground can cause erratic sensor readings.
