Possible Causes

Open bake or broil element, Burnt wiring at element terminals, Failed relay on EOC, Loose connection at terminal block

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before touching any elements or wiring.

  • Inspect elements: Look for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks on the bake and broil elements.
  • Test continuity: Remove at least one wire from the suspect element and measure resistance with a multimeter. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
  • Check wiring: Inspect wires at the element terminals and at the rear of the oven for burns or loose spade connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Check terminal block: Ensure the main power connections at the rear terminal block are tight and not burnt.
  • Replace EOC: If elements and wiring are good but the oven still does not heat and F40 persists, the EOC relay may be faulty and require replacement.
