Possible Causes
Overheated or jammed door lock motor, Warped latch from high heat, Faulty door lock switch not signaling unlock, Mechanical obstruction in lock linkage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely. Do not force the door open.
- Wait for cooling: Some locks will not release until the cavity temperature drops below a threshold. Wait at least 30–60 minutes.
- Power reset: After cooling, restore power and see if the lock releases automatically.
- Manual release: If still locked, remove the top panel (with power off) and locate the lock mechanism. Carefully move the lock arm to the unlock position.
- Inspect lock assembly: Check for bent parts or melted plastic. Replace the door lock motor assembly if it does not operate smoothly.
