Induction hob zone will not heat and E01 appears on the display when a pan is placed.

Safety first: Disconnect the hob from mains power at the breaker before removing any panels. Induction hobs store high voltage in capacitors; do not touch internal components unless you are trained.

Step-by-step checks:

• Verify cookware: Use a flat-bottomed, ferromagnetic pan (check with a fridge magnet). The magnet must stick firmly to the base. Avoid aluminum, copper, glass, or ceramic unless they have an induction-compatible base.
• Check pan size and position: Ensure the pan fully covers the marked cooking zone and is centered. Very small pans may not be detected.
• Clean the glass surface: Wipe the zone with a soft cloth and glass cleaner. Dried spills or warped pans can prevent proper contact.
• Power reset: Turn off the hob at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and test again with a known good induction pan.
• If E01 persists on a single zone: The pan detection coil or its wiring on that zone may be faulty. Access the underside of the hob, visually inspect the coil for cracks or burn marks, and check the harness connection to the induction power board. Replace the affected coil or power board as needed.
• If E01 appears on all zones: Suspect the main induction power board or control board. At this point, contact a qualified Brandt service technician for diagnosis and replacement.
