Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation openings, Overheated induction power module, Faulty NTC temperature sensor on power board, Cooling fan failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the hob at the circuit breaker and allow it to cool for at least 20–30 minutes before inspection.
Steps:
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the hob as per Brandt installation manual. Remove any stored items (pans, trays, cloths) from the cabinet space that may block airflow.
- Clean air paths: Inspect the front and rear ventilation slots. Vacuum dust and debris from vents and from the area around the cooling fan (access from below if possible).
- Verify cooling fan operation: Restore power, start a zone at medium power, and listen for the fan. It should start within a few minutes. If the fan is noisy, seized, or not running, disconnect power and replace the fan.
- Check temperature sensor: With power off, locate the NTC sensor clipped to the heatsink of the induction module. Ensure it is firmly attached and wiring is intact. A loose sensor can cause false overheat readings.
- If E02 recurs quickly on one zone only: The corresponding power module may be failing. Replacement of the induction power board is usually required and should be done by a qualified technician.
