Possible Causes
Incorrect mains voltage (under/over-voltage), Loose terminal block connections, Miswired phase/neutral, Faulty main filter board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the main breaker before opening the connection box. Only perform electrical measurements if you are competent and have appropriate tools.
Steps:
- Check household supply: Confirm that the hob is connected to the correct voltage (typically 230–240 V single phase or 400 V 2N/3N depending on model). Use a multimeter at the wall outlet or junction box.
- Inspect terminal block: Remove the hob from the worktop if necessary and open the rear connection cover. Check that all screws on the terminal block are tight and that the bridging links are installed as per the Brandt wiring diagram on the label.
- Look for heat damage: Burnt insulation or discolored terminals indicate overheating; replace the terminal block and repair wiring as needed.
- Reset the unit: After correcting wiring or tightening terminals, restore power and test. If E03 persists, the main EMI filter / power input board may be damaged.
- Professional service: Replacement of the main filter or control board should be carried out by a Brandt-authorized technician due to live mains exposure.
