Possible Causes
Moisture on touch panel, Stuck or shorted touch key, Faulty touch control PCB, Loose ribbon cable between touch panel and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the hob at the breaker before removing any glass or control components.
Steps:
- Clean and dry the surface: Wipe the glass control area thoroughly with a dry, soft cloth. Remove any spills, grease, or cleaning product residue. Allow the hob to air dry for at least 30 minutes.
- Power reset: Switch off the power for 5 minutes, then restore and test. Sometimes E05 clears after a full reset.
- Check for physical pressure: Ensure no heavy objects, magnets, or metallic items are resting on the control area that could simulate a permanent touch.
- Inspect internal connections: If the error persists, remove the hob and carefully lift the glass top (following Brandt service instructions). Check the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the main control board for corrosion, kinks, or loose seating.
- Replace faulty parts: If a specific key area is unresponsive or always "pressed", the touch control PCB or glass touch assembly may need replacement.
