Possible Causes

Open or shorted NTC sensor on power module, Disconnected sensor wiring, Damaged connector on control board, Failed control board input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and wait for internal components to discharge before touching any electronics.

Steps:

  • Identify affected zone: Note which zone triggers E06. This helps locate the corresponding NTC sensor on the heatsink or coil frame.
  • Check sensor connection: Access the underside of the hob and locate the small NTC sensor clipped to the heatsink or near the coil. Ensure it is firmly clipped and the connector is fully seated on the power board.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for pinched, cut, or burnt sensor wires. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
  • Measure sensor resistance: With a multimeter, measure the NTC at room temperature and compare with Brandt specifications (typically 50–100 kΩ at 25°C, depending on model). An open circuit or near-zero ohms indicates a faulty sensor.
  • Replace defective NTC: If readings are out of range, replace the temperature sensor with the correct Brandt part number.
  • If sensor is good: The control or power board input circuit may be defective and will require board replacement by a technician.
