Possible Causes
Convection fan motor failure, Fan blocked by grease or debris, Faulty fan relay on control board, Broken fan wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely before working near the fan.
Steps:
- Check fan operation: In convection mode, you should hear the fan. If silent, suspect a fan issue.
- Access fan: Remove the rear panel inside the oven cavity to expose the convection fan. Check for heavy grease buildup or foreign objects blocking the blades.
- Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. It should move freely without grinding. If stiff or noisy, replace the fan motor.
- Inspect wiring: From the rear of the range, check the fan motor connectors and wiring harness for damage.
- Relay check: If the fan motor tests good but does not receive power, the control board's fan relay may be faulty and the board will need replacement.
