Possible Causes
Water or cleaning fluid in knob area, Stuck or shorted ignition microswitch, Damaged ignition module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the hob from mains power to stop the clicking. Turn off gas if you suspect a leak.
- Dry the hob: If the issue started after cleaning or a spill, remove burner caps and knobs and allow the hob to dry completely for several hours.
- Inspect switches: Under each knob is a small ignition microswitch. Check for signs of corrosion or sticking. Replace the faulty switch if one is stuck closed.
- Check wiring: Ensure no wires are pinched or shorted to the chassis.
- Ignition module: If all switches are good but clicking continues when powered, replace the ignition module.
