Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents, Failed cooling fan, Defective NTC temperature sensor on power module, Overheated power IGBT module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the cooktop from the worktop or accessing internal components.
- Allow unit to cool: Turn off all zones and let the cooktop cool for at least 30 minutes. Restart and test the affected zone.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the cooktop as specified in the Candy installation manual. Remove any stored items blocking airflow around the base and vents.
- Inspect cooling fan: Remove the cooktop from the counter (if built-in) and remove the bottom cover. Check that the cooling fan spins freely and is not obstructed by grease or debris. Clean and test again.
- Test fan operation: Restore power briefly and start a zone while observing the fan (keep hands clear). If the fan does not run when zones are active, the fan motor or its supply from the power module is faulty. Replace the cooling fan assembly.
- Check NTC sensor: On Candy induction modules, a small NTC sensor is clipped to the heatsink. Inspect wiring and connector. If the sensor is open/shorted (requires multimeter), replace the NTC sensor or the entire power module depending on design.
