Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor on glass, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty input on power module PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before lifting the glass top or touching internal parts.
- Cool the cooktop: Allow the glass to cool completely. Sometimes E05 can be triggered by extreme overheating; after cooling, reset power and test.
- Access sensors: Remove the cooktop from the worktop and lift the glass surface according to the Candy service instructions. Locate the small NTC sensors attached near each zone.
- Inspect and reseat connectors: Check the sensor wiring harness for damage or disconnection. Reseat the plug on the power module.
- Test the sensor: Using a multimeter, measure the resistance of the affected zone’s NTC at room temperature and compare with Candy specifications. Replace the NTC sensor if open/shorted.
- Replace power module if needed: If the sensor and wiring are good but E05 remains, the analog input on the power module may be defective and the module should be replaced.
