Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents, Failed cooling fan, Faulty safety thermostat, Control board temperature sensing error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool fully before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the range has proper clearance and that vents are not blocked by cabinets or foil.
- Inspect cooling fan: On models with a tangential cooling fan, access the top or rear and verify the fan spins freely and runs when the oven is on. Replace if seized or not powered.
- Reset or replace safety thermostat: Locate the safety thermostat on the oven top or rear. If it has a reset button, press it. If it is open circuit and non-resettable, replace it.
- Control board: If all hardware is good and Er04 persists, the control board may be misreading temperature and should be replaced.
