Possible Causes
Defective ignition module, No power to ignition circuit, Shorted ignition switch on knob, Moisture around spark electrodes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect electrical power before servicing. Beware of gas leaks and open flames.
- Dry the hob: If the fault appeared after cleaning or a spill, dry the area around the burners and electrodes thoroughly. Leave the hob off for several hours.
- Check power supply: Ensure the hob is plugged in and the outlet has power. Test with another appliance.
- Inspect ignition module: Access the underside of the hob and locate the ignition module. Check for burnt marks or loose connectors. Reseat all wires.
- Test manual ignition: Try lighting a burner with a match or lighter (with care). If it lights and burns normally, the gas system is fine and the issue is electrical.
- Replace ignition module: If no sparks are produced on any burner and wiring is intact, replace the Candy ignition module.
