Possible Causes
Moisture on glass surface, Spillage over touch controls, Faulty touch sensor IC, Loose earth reference on control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
User actions:
- Turn the hob off and wipe the glass surface thoroughly, especially over the touch controls, with a dry, lint‑free cloth.
- Ensure there is no aluminium foil, metal utensil, or wet cloth lying across the control area.
- Switch off at the mains for 2–3 minutes to allow the touch panel to recalibrate, then power back on.
Technician actions (if E7 persists):
- Check the earth connection to the hob chassis; a poor earth can affect capacitive touch sensing.
- Inspect the touch control PCB for signs of liquid damage or corrosion around the sensor IC.
- Verify that the glass is correctly seated and not flexing excessively over the sensor area.
- If the panel remains erratic, replace the complete touch control module.
