Possible Causes

Stuck or shorted ignition switch on control knob, Moisture around burner knob, Faulty spark generator sensing circuit, Damaged wiring to ignition switches

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the hob power. Do not leave the hob clicking continuously as it can damage the ignition module.

User actions:

  • Dry the area around the burner knobs thoroughly; spilt liquids can bridge the ignition switch contacts.
  • Leave the hob powered off for several hours to allow internal moisture to evaporate, then test again.

Technician actions:

  • Remove the control panel to access the ignition switches mounted on the gas valves.
  • Test each switch for correct operation (open when knob is at OFF, closed only in ignition position).
  • Replace any switch that remains closed or shows intermittent readings.
  • Inspect the spark generator module for a stuck sensing circuit if all switches test OK.

After repair, verify that clicking stops a few seconds after the flame is established on each burner.
