Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off gas at the isolation valve. Work on gas components must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer (or equivalent in your region).
Technician checks:
- Inspect each burner’s thermocouple for correct positioning in the flame and for damage or kinks.
- Check that the thermocouple nuts are tight on the flame safety valves.
- Measure thermocouple output (mV) when heated; replace any that do not generate sufficient voltage.
- If all thermocouples are good, test the safety valve manifold and any associated safety control PCB for correct operation.
Remedy: Replace faulty thermocouples or safety valves. After replacement, perform a full gas tightness test and burner flame check.
