Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad membrane, Failed electronic oven control board (EOC), Moisture or contamination on keypad ribbon, Loose keypad ribbon cable connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.

Steps to try:

  • Power reset: Turn the range breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1 returns quickly, continue.
  • Check for stuck keys: Press each keypad button firmly several times. If any key feels stuck or unresponsive, the touchpad is likely faulty.
  • Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the back panel behind the control console. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the touchpad to the EOC. Reseat it (unplug and plug back in) and check for corrosion or burns.
  • Dry moisture: If the control area was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, allow it to dry 24 hours with power disconnected, then retest.
  • If F1 persists: Replace the touchpad/control panel assembly or the electronic oven control (EOC) as a matched set, following the service manual. Label and transfer each wire one at a time.

When to stop: If you smell burning, see scorched traces on the board, or are unsure about wiring, stop and contact a qualified technician.
