Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose or corroded sensor connector at EOC, Damaged EOC sensor input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing or replacing parts.
- Access sensor: Inside the oven, locate the temperature sensor probe on the rear wall. Remove the two screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Check connection: Inspect the plug for corrosion, burns, or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Test continuity: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads. If the meter shows OL (open) or extremely high resistance, the sensor is open and must be replaced.
- Inspect harness to EOC: If the sensor tests good, remove the rear cover of the range and trace the harness from the sensor to the EOC. Look for cuts, pinches, or melted insulation. Repair or replace the harness as needed.
- If wiring and sensor are good: The EOC sensor circuit is likely faulty and the control board will need replacement.
