Possible Causes

Failed EOC relay contacts, Internal EOC logic fault, Power surge damage, Loose wiring to heating elements

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Capacitors on the control board can retain charge; avoid touching bare circuitry.

  • Power reset: Turn breaker OFF for 10 minutes, then ON. If F5 returns immediately, proceed.
  • Inspect wiring: Remove rear panel and inspect wires from EOC to bake and broil elements. Look for burnt terminals, loose spade connectors, or melted insulation. Repair or replace damaged wires.
  • Check for visible board damage: With the console open, look for burnt spots, cracked solder joints, or bulging components on the EOC. If present, the board must be replaced.
  • Replace EOC: Label each wire on the existing control, transfer one by one to the new board, and mount it securely. Reassemble and test.

Note: If the range experienced a recent lightning strike or power surge, consider using a surge protector for future protection.
