Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, Moisture or cleaner inside keypad, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Failed touch control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before opening the control panel.
- Dry out keypad: If the control was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, leave power off and allow 24 hours to dry. Do not spray cleaners directly on the panel; spray a cloth instead.
- Check for stuck keys: With power restored, press each key individually. If one key does not click or feels stuck, the touchpad is likely defective.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the rear console cover and inspect the flat ribbon from the keypad to the EOC. Ensure it is fully seated and not torn or corroded.
- Reseat connectors: Unplug and reinsert the ribbon cable carefully, ensuring it is straight and fully inserted.
- Replace touchpad/control panel: If F7 persists, replace the touch control panel assembly specific to your Electrolux model.
