Possible Causes
Child lock function activated, Touch control panel moisture or dirt, Stuck touch key on glass, Control PCB firmware glitch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is usually not an electrical hazard, but if you need to clean or dry the panel, switch the hob off at the mains first.
- Check child lock: On most Grundig induction hobs, press and hold the key symbol or the lock icon for 3–5 seconds until the E0 or lock symbol disappears.
- Dry and clean the panel: Wipe the glass control area with a soft dry cloth. Moisture or spills can simulate a permanent touch and keep the lock active.
- Power reset: Turn the hob off at the wall isolator or circuit breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power and test again.
- Check for stuck keys: If a specific area of the touch panel is cracked or permanently responsive, the touch sensor may be faulty and the control module may need replacement.
If the lock will not clear after these steps, contact a qualified technician to test the touch control PCB and glass sensor assembly.
