Possible Causes
Non‑induction compatible pan, Pan base too small for zone, Warped or uneven pan bottom, Faulty induction coil sensor on that zone
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the hob is cool before handling cookware. Do not use damaged or heavily warped pans.
- Check cookware type: Use a pan with a magnetic base (test with a fridge magnet). If the magnet does not stick, the pan is not suitable for Grundig induction hobs.
- Match pan size to zone: Use a pan that covers at least 60–70% of the marked cooking zone. Very small pans may not be detected.
- Center the pan: Place the pan centrally on the zone and reselect the power level.
- Try another pan: If E1 appears only with one pan, the pan is likely the issue. If it appears with all pans on the same zone, the zone’s coil or sensor may be faulty.
If the same zone always shows E1 with known good pans, a technician should test the induction coil, pan sensor, and power module for that zone.
