Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch the hob off and allow it to cool completely before inspection. Isolate from mains if removing panels or accessing vents.
- Allow cooling: Turn the hob off and wait 20–30 minutes. Restart and test at a lower power level.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the hob as per the Grundig installation manual. Do not block cabinet vents or place items directly under the hob.
- Clean air inlets: Use a vacuum with a brush attachment to gently clean dust from the hob’s ventilation grilles (usually at the front or underside).
- Listen for fan: When a zone is on high power, you should hear the internal cooling fan. If the fan never runs, it may be faulty.
If E2 recurs frequently, a professional should test the cooling fan, NTC sensor, and power module on the affected Grundig hob.
