Possible Causes

Shorted induction coil, Damaged wiring harness to coil, Faulty IGBT or power transistor on module, Liquid ingress causing tracking on coil connections

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: This is a high‑voltage, high‑current fault. Do not continue using the hob. Switch off at the mains and do not attempt internal repairs unless you are qualified.

  • Disconnect power: Turn off the cooker/hob at the main isolator or breaker immediately.
  • Inspect from above: Once cool, check for obvious liquid spills that may have run through gaps in the glass. Clean the surface thoroughly.
  • Do not bypass safety: Do not attempt to repeatedly reset and use the zone; this can damage the power electronics further.

A professional technician must remove the hob, inspect the induction coil, wiring, and power module, and replace any shorted components.
