Possible Causes
Burner cap misaligned, Blocked burner ports, Gas supply valve closed, Faulty spark electrode or ignition generator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you smell gas, turn off the gas supply immediately, ventilate the room, and do not use electrical switches or open flames. If the smell is strong, leave the area and contact your gas supplier.
- Check gas supply: Ensure the main gas valve to the hob is open and that other gas appliances work.
- Align burner parts: Remove the burner cap and head, clean off any spills, and refit them correctly on the Grundig burner base.
- Clean burner ports: Use a soft brush or wooden toothpick to clear blocked holes; do not use metal objects that can enlarge the ports.
- Check ignition spark: Turn the knob to ignite and look for a spark at the electrode. If there is no spark on any burner, the ignition generator may be faulty.
If only one burner fails and others work, the electrode or wiring for that burner may need replacement. If none ignite, have a technician test the ignition generator and gas valve.
