Possible Causes
Liquid spill into control knob area, Stuck or shorted ignition microswitch on a control tap, Faulty spark generator module, Damaged wiring insulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burners and isolate the cooker from the mains to stop the clicking. Ensure there is no gas smell.
- Dry after spills: If a spill occurred, remove the burner caps and clean up visible liquid. Leave the cooker disconnected for several hours to dry.
- Test knobs: After drying, reconnect power and turn each knob to ignition then off, one at a time, to identify if one switch keeps the igniter running.
- If one knob causes continuous clicking: The ignition switch on that tap is likely stuck and should be replaced by a gas engineer.
- If clicking continues with all knobs off and dry: The spark generator or wiring may be shorted and requires professional replacement.
