Possible Causes
Burnt‑out radiant element, Failed solid hotplate, Faulty energy regulator or selector switch, Loose wiring at terminal block or element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the cooker from the mains before removing any panels or hob top.
- Test other plates: If only one zone fails, the element or its control is likely faulty. If all fail, suspect supply or main switch.
- Indicator light: If the hotplate indicator light comes on but the plate stays cold, the element is likely open‑circuit.
- Continuity test (technician): A technician should access the underside of the hob, disconnect the suspect element, and test for continuity with a multimeter.
- Replace faulty part: Fit a genuine Hoover radiant element or solid hotplate, and check the energy regulator if there is no power to the element.
