Possible Causes
Unsuitable cookware (non‑magnetic or warped base), Empty pan overheating the zone, Faulty pan detection sensor on the power board, Poor contact between glass and sensor area due to spilled residue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the hob using the controls and switch off the cooker isolation switch or unplug the appliance. Allow the glass to cool completely before touching.
- Check cookware: Use a flat‑bottomed, induction‑compatible pan (magnetic base). Test with a fridge magnet – it should stick firmly to the base.
- Try another zone: Place the same pan on a different zone. If it works elsewhere, the original zone’s sensor or power module may be faulty.
- Clean the glass: Once cool, clean the affected zone with a non‑abrasive hob cleaner. Dried spills or sugar can interfere with temperature and pan sensors.
- Power reset: Isolate power for 5–10 minutes, then restore. Re‑test the zone with correct cookware and medium power.
- If E01 persists on one zone only: The zone’s sensor or IGBT on the power board is likely failing. Do not continue to use that zone at high power. Contact a qualified Hoover service technician to test and replace the induction power module / sensor assembly.
