Possible Causes

Blocked cooling vents under hob, Failed cooling fan, Overheated power module, Installation without adequate ventilation clearance

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off all cooking zones, switch off power at the cooker isolation switch, and allow at least 30 minutes for the unit to cool.

  • Check ventilation: Inspect the cabinet under the hob. Ensure the cooling vents and cut‑outs specified in the Hoover installation manual are not blocked by drawers, panels, or stored items.
  • Clear obstructions: Remove any items stored directly under the hob that may restrict airflow to the cooling fan and heat sink.
  • Check fan operation: Restore power and briefly turn on a zone. Listen for the internal cooling fan. If the fan does not run or is very noisy, it may be seized or failed.
  • Re‑test: After cooling and clearing vents, try using the hob at a lower power setting. If E02 reappears quickly, the cooling system or power module is likely defective.
  • Do not continue use if the error recurs; overheating can damage internal components. Arrange a Hoover‑authorised technician to test and replace the cooling fan assembly or power module as required.
