Possible Causes

Open‑circuit NTC sensor on the glass underside, Shorted NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Fault on the zone control board reading the sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the appliance from the mains before any inspection. Do not remove the hob from the worktop unless you are competent and the power is fully disconnected.

  • Cool down: Allow the hob to cool completely. Sometimes E03 can be triggered by extreme localized heat (e.g. hot sugar spill).
  • Clean the glass: Gently clean the affected zone with a soft cloth and hob cleaner to remove any burnt‑on residue that may affect sensor readings.
  • Power reset: Turn off power at the isolation switch for 10 minutes, then restore and test the zone again.
  • If E03 returns on the same zone: The NTC sensor or its wiring is likely faulty. Accessing the underside of the glass to test resistance requires removal of the hob and use of a multimeter.
  • Recommended: Contact a Hoover service technician to test and replace the zone temperature sensor (NTC) or zone control board. Continued use may cause overheating or glass damage.
