Possible Causes
Incorrect mains connection (single vs. two‑phase wiring error), Loose terminal block connections, Overvoltage or undervoltage from supply, Faulty main power board sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the cooker isolation switch. Do not remove the terminal cover unless you are qualified to work on mains wiring.
- Check other appliances: If lights flicker or other appliances behave erratically, there may be a supply voltage issue. Contact an electrician.
- Power reset: Leave the hob isolated for 10–15 minutes, then restore power and test at low power.
- Verify installation (qualified person only): Confirm that the hob is wired according to the Hoover wiring diagram on the rating plate (correct bridging links, cable size, and phase connection).
- Tighten terminals: A qualified electrician should check that all terminal block screws are tight and that there are no signs of overheating or charring.
- If E04 persists with correct supply: The main power board’s voltage sensing circuit may be defective and should be replaced by a Hoover‑authorised technician.
