Possible Causes
Cooling fan blocked by debris, Failed fan motor, Fan connector loose, Fan speed sensor fault on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the hob from the mains before inspecting underneath or inside the cabinet.
- Check airflow: Ensure that the cabinet under the hob is not packed with items that could obstruct the fan intake or exhaust.
- Listen for fan: Restore power and briefly use a zone. You should hear the fan running. If it is silent or makes grinding noises, it may be seized.
- Clean vents: Vacuum dust from ventilation grilles under and around the hob (do not insert tools into the fan).
- If E09 persists: A Hoover technician should access the underside, test the cooling fan, and check the fan connector and supply from the main board. Replace the fan if faulty.
