Possible Causes

Unsuitable cookware material, Cookware base too small for zone, Damaged pan detection coil on induction zone, Faulty induction power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the cooktop with the main power switch and, if accessible, switch off the circuit breaker before touching any internal components. Allow all zones to cool completely.

Basic checks (user level):

  • Verify that you are using induction-compatible cookware (magnetic stainless steel or cast iron). Test with a magnet: if it sticks firmly to the base, it is usually suitable.
  • Ensure the pan size matches the cooking zone. Very small pans may not be detected; move the pan to a smaller zone if available.
  • Center the pan on the marked cooking zone and make sure the base is flat and clean.
  • Clean the glass surface with a non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. Dried spills or a protective mat between pan and glass can interfere with detection.
  • Power-cycle the cooktop: switch off at the breaker for 2–3 minutes, then restore power and test again.

Technical checks (technician level):

  • Remove the cooktop from the worktop following Liebherr installation instructions and access the underside.
  • Inspect the pan detection coil and wiring harness for the affected zone on the induction power module. Look for loose connectors, broken wires, or burn marks.
  • Measure coil resistance with a multimeter and compare to Liebherr service specifications. An open or shorted coil indicates failure.
  • If the coil is good, test the induction power module for proper supply voltage and output. Replace the module if diagnostics indicate a defective driver circuit.

If basic cookware and cleaning checks do not clear F0, contact a qualified Liebherr service technician.
