Cooktop zone shuts down shortly after being turned on, display shows F1

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power at the circuit breaker. Allow at least 30 minutes for the glass and internal components to cool.

User checks:

• Remove any oversized cookware that covers multiple zones or overlaps control areas; this can cause localized overheating.
• Ensure ventilation openings below the cooktop (in the cabinet) are not blocked by drawers, liners, or stored items.
• Clean the glass surface and ensure no foil, silicone mats, or covers are on the cooktop while in use.
• After cooling, restore power and test the affected zone at a low setting.

Technician checks:

• Access the underside of the cooktop and locate the NTC sensor for the affected zone (usually clipped to the underside of the glass or integrated into the induction module).
• Check the sensor connector on the main control board or zone module for corrosion or looseness; reseat if necessary.
• Measure the NTC resistance at room temperature and compare with Liebherr specifications. A reading far out of range indicates a faulty sensor.
• Inspect wiring from sensor to control board for damage from heat or pinching.
• If the sensor and wiring are good, the fault may lie in the electronic control board; follow Liebherr diagnostic procedures and replace the board if confirmed defective.
