Possible Causes
Moisture or liquid on touch panel, Objects resting on control area, Faulty touch sensor PCB, Loose ribbon cable between glass interface and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off the cooktop and isolate from mains power. Do not attempt to operate with wet hands or a wet surface.
User steps:
- Wipe the control area thoroughly with a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture, spills, or cleaning residues.
- Remove any metal utensils, lids, or cloths from the control area.
- Leave the cooktop powered off for 10–15 minutes to allow internal electronics to dry if there was a major spill.
- Restore power and test the controls again.
Technician steps:
- Remove the cooktop from the countertop and carefully separate the glass top from the chassis according to Liebherr service documentation.
- Inspect the touch control PCB and ribbon cable for signs of liquid ingress or corrosion.
- Clean minor corrosion with appropriate electronic contact cleaner and a soft brush.
- Ensure the ribbon cable is fully seated and not damaged; replace if cracked or delaminated.
- If F3 persists, replace the touch control panel assembly or main user interface board as specified for the model.
