Induction cooktop shows a 'U' or similar symbol and zone does not heat

Safety first: Ensure the cooktop surface is clean and dry.

User steps:

• Use only induction-compatible cookware (magnetic base). Test with a magnet.
• Ensure the pan base fully covers the inner circle of the cooking zone.
• Remove any paper, cloth, or silicone mats between the pan and glass.
• Center the pan and try again at a moderate power level.

If the symbol appears with known good cookware on multiple zones, the pan detection circuitry may be faulty and requires a technician.
