Possible Causes
Blocked cooling air intake or exhaust, Failed induction cooling fan, Overloaded cooktop (multiple high‑power zones at once with poor ventilation), Thermal sensor on power module faulty
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and allow the cooktop to cool before removing it from the countertop.
- Ventilation check: Ensure that the cabinet cut‑out and ventilation clearances meet Miele specifications. Remove any stored items blocking airflow under the cooktop.
- Inspect cooling fan: Access the underside of the cooktop and locate the induction cooling fan. Check for dust buildup, obstructions, or seized bearings. Clean and test rotation by hand.
- Fan operation: Restore power and, with caution, start a low‑power zone. Confirm the fan starts when zones heat. If not, test for voltage at the fan connector and replace the fan if defective.
- Thermal sensor: Some power modules have a separate NTC sensor. Inspect its mounting and wiring; replace if damaged or reading out of spec.
