Possible Causes
Drifting oven temperature sensor (NTC), Poor contact between sensor and wiring, Control calibration offset, Failing relay contacts causing intermittent heating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the sensor or control.
- Verify with thermometer: Use an accurate oven thermometer to compare actual temperature to the setpoint over several cycles.
- Sensor test: Measure resistance of the oven temperature sensor at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (per service data). Replace if out of spec.
- Check connections: Reseat the sensor connector at the control board.
- Calibration: Some Miele models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu. Adjust within the allowed range if readings are consistently off by a similar amount.
- Relay inspection: If temperature swings widely, inspect the power module relays for pitting or overheating and replace the module if necessary.
