Possible Causes
Child lock function enabled, No compatible pan on the zone, Pan too small for the zone, Faulty touch control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the hob at the cooker switch and allow all zones to cool before touching any components. Do not open the appliance while connected to mains.
- Check child lock: On most Montpellier induction hobs, press and hold the key symbol or lock icon for 3–5 seconds until the lock indicator disappears. Try switching on a zone again.
- Use a suitable pan: Place a flat-bottomed, ferromagnetic pan (induction-compatible) on the zone. Ensure the base diameter matches the zone size. If E0 clears and power level appears, the hob is working correctly.
- Test different zones: Try the same pan on other zones. If only one zone shows E0, the issue may be local to that zone’s sensor or coil.
- Power reset: Turn off power at the mains isolator for 2–3 minutes, then restore power. This can reset the touch control PCB.
- If still no response: The touch control PCB or main power board may be faulty. Do not attempt internal repairs unless qualified; contact a Montpellier-authorised technician.
