Possible Causes
Defective NTC temperature sensor on heat sink, Poor contact between sensor and heat sink, Failed cooling fan, Overheated power board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the hob from the mains before any further diagnosis. Do not continue using the appliance if it repeatedly overheats.
- Allow full cool-down: Leave the hob powered off for at least 30 minutes. Ensure the area under the hob is well ventilated.
- Check for obstructions: Remove any drawers or items stored directly under the hob that may block airflow.
- Listen for fan: After restoring power, run a zone and listen for the cooling fan. If it does not run, the fan or its supply is faulty.
- Persistent E5: Usually indicates a faulty NTC sensor or power module. These are internal components; contact a Montpellier service centre for replacement.
