Possible Causes
Shorted sensor, Damaged sensor cable insulation touching chassis, Moisture in sensor connector, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power and allow the oven to cool before accessing the rear panel.
- Inspect sensor wiring: Check the sensor harness for crushed or melted insulation where it passes through the oven cavity.
- Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor.
- Replace sensor if shorted: Fit a genuine Montpellier sensor and route wiring away from hot surfaces.
- If sensor tests normal: The control board’s sensor input circuit may be shorted and require replacement.
