Possible Causes
Failed tangential cooling fan, Open-circuit overheat thermostat, Blocked cooling air path, Loose wiring to fan or thermostat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the cooker to cool fully. Internal metal parts may remain hot for some time.
- Check fan operation: During normal use, you should hear the cooling fan running. If it never runs, suspect a failed fan or thermostat.
- Inspect vents: Ensure front and rear cooling vents are not blocked by cabinets or objects.
- Access fan (technician): Remove the top or rear panel to reach the tangential fan. Test for 230 V supply when the oven is on. If voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the fan.
- Test overheat thermostat: Use a multimeter to check continuity across the thermostat. An open circuit when cold indicates failure; replace with the correct Montpellier thermostat.
