Possible Causes
Blocked burner cap or ports, Faulty ignition electrode, No gas supply to burner, Defective spark generator (ignition module)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn all burner knobs to OFF. Do not continue sparking if you smell gas. Ventilate the room and avoid open flames.
- Check gas supply: Ensure the gas isolation valve is open and other gas appliances work. If no gas anywhere, contact your gas supplier.
- Clean burner parts: Remove the burner cap and head. Clean ports with a soft brush or wooden toothpick. Do not enlarge holes.
- Dry components: If the hob was recently cleaned, moisture may prevent ignition. Dry the burner, cap, and electrode thoroughly.
- Check spark: Turn the knob to ignite and look for a strong blue spark at the electrode. If no spark on any burner, the ignition module or power supply may be faulty.
- Replace faulty parts: If only one burner fails to spark, replace that burner’s ignition electrode. If none spark, have a technician test and replace the ignition module.
