Possible Causes
Faulty temperature limiter on element, Poor pan contact with glass, Incorrect cookware size, Defective control switch or PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Burn hazard: Even if cycling, the zone can still be very hot.
- Use appropriate cookware: Ensure the pan base matches the zone size and is flat to make good contact with the glass.
- Observe cycling: Some cycling is normal to regulate temperature, but if the zone never reaches a red glow at higher settings, there may be a fault.
- Try another zone: If other zones heat normally with the same pan, the affected zone’s temperature limiter or control is suspect.
- Technician repair: The radiant element and limiter should be tested and replaced if defective. The control PCB may also need inspection.
