Possible Causes

Unsuitable cookware (non‑magnetic), Cookware base too small for zone, Damaged induction coil sensor, Faulty induction power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Induction hobs generate strong electromagnetic fields. Do not open the appliance while connected to mains. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before any internal inspection.

  • Check cookware type: Use a pan with a flat, ferromagnetic base (cast iron or induction‑compatible stainless steel). If a magnet does not stick firmly to the base, the pan is unsuitable.
  • Check pan size and position: Ensure the pan fully covers the marked cooking zone and is centered. Very small pans may not be detected.
  • Test another zone: Try the same pan on a different induction zone. If it works elsewhere, the original zone’s coil or sensor may be faulty.
  • Power reset: Turn off the hob at the mains for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and test again. This can clear transient sensor faults.
  • If error persists on one zone only: The affected induction coil or its sensor on the induction power module is likely defective. Internal testing and replacement should be done by a qualified Neff technician due to high‑voltage components and risk of electric shock.
