- Immediate action: Turn off all cooking zones and allow the hob to cool for at least 20–30 minutes.
- Check installation clearances: Verify that the hob has the minimum ventilation gaps specified in the Neff installation manual. Ensure no insulation, panels, or drawers are blocking airflow.
- Clear obstructions: Remove items stored directly under the hob, especially tall pots, trays, or boxes that may block the fan intake.
- Check fan operation: After cooling, turn the hob back on at low power and listen for the cooling fan. If the fan does not run, it may be defective.
- If E016 recurs frequently: A technician should inspect the cooling fan, temperature sensors on the power module heat sink, and verify correct installation. Replacement of the fan or power module may be required.
