Possible Causes
Child lock function engaged, Touch panel miscalibrated due to moisture, Faulty user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: E056 can indicate that the safety lock is active or that the touch panel is not reading inputs correctly.
- Try unlocking: On most Neff hobs, press and hold the key symbol (lock icon) for 4–5 seconds until the lock indicator goes out. Refer to your user manual for the exact sequence.
- Dry the surface: Ensure the control area is completely dry and free of spills. Moisture can cause false touches and lockouts.
- Power cycle: Turn off the hob at the mains for 5–10 minutes, then restore power and attempt to unlock again.
- If E056 persists and lock cannot be cleared: The user interface PCB may be defective and require replacement by a technician.
