Possible Causes

Open heating element, Burned thermal limiter on element, Loose wiring to element, Faulty power relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Radiant elements run at mains voltage and get extremely hot. Disconnect power before any internal inspection.

  • Confirm symptom: Turn on the affected zone and observe through the glass. If it never glows red while others do, the element circuit is likely open.
  • Power reset: Turn off the appliance at the breaker for 10 minutes, then restore and test. If E101 returns, internal fault remains.
  • Internal diagnosis (technician): The cooktop must be removed and the radiant heating element tested for continuity, along with its thermal limiter and wiring. The technician will also test the corresponding relay on the power control board.
