How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Gas safety: Work on gas components must comply with local regulations. If unsure, contact a certified gas technician.
- Clean burner and sensor:
- Turn off gas and power.
- Remove burner cap and head.
- Gently clean the thermocouple tip (small metal rod near the burner) with a soft brush or fine abrasive pad to remove soot and grease.
- Reassemble the burner correctly.
- Test flame: Light the burner and hold the knob in the ignition position for 5–10 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat. Release and see if the flame stays on.
- If flame still goes out: The thermocouple or flame safety valve may be defective and should be tested and replaced by a gas technician.
